Blueprint Danes Litter Inquires
I will be on a hiatus from breeding as I now have a new puppy and show hopeful. I am happy to refer to other reputable breeders if searching for a blue or black Great Dane or one of a different color.

Quality Breeding
At Blueprint Danes I aim to breed dogs that conform to the Great Dane Club of America breed standard. Breeding healthy, smart, companions with amazing temperaments is the number one goal. I believe in health testing (OFA for the Hips, Thyroid testing, Eye CERF, and Cardio ECHO) and breeding for only the betterment of the breed. Pre breeding health tests are completed on all of my Danes and are considered when choosing breeding partners. Puppies are home raised with special attention to socialization. Every puppy sold with the Blueprint Danes name comes in 24/7 Breeder support.
Puppy Placement
Puppies will not be placed on a first come first served basis, each puppy will be placed with the best possible home for that individual puppies needs. All Blueprint Great Danes are pets first, and then show dogs, therapy dogs or performance dogs depending on assessments made on each individual puppy.
Great Danes are not for everyone nor for every situation. That being the case, I reserve the right to refuse to place a puppy with anyone for any reason. I approve each family on their own merits and honesty to our application questions.
Because I breed for myself and the show ring first, I will not place any 'pet' puppies until show potential is determined, which is around 8wks of age. All ‘companion’ puppies (Danes not selected to be show dogs) are placed on a spay/neuter contract. It should also be understood that unless you are an experienced Dane home, your AKC limited registration papers will be mailed directly to you after Blueprint Great Danes receives a copy of the completion of your Puppy Kindergarten classes or AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy class completion for our records.
**All Companion puppies are sold on a NON-BREEDING agreement and SPAY/NEUTER agreement. I will NOT sell puppies "with breeding rights" **
Once you are a Blueprint Dane owner, we make every effort to help with any and all concerns about your new puppy or even your senior dog. We love to receive photos and bi-monthly updates on all pups produced by us. We consider you friends for life unless you prove otherwise.
If for whatever reason you can no longer provide for your puppy/dog, I will gladly take the puppy/dog back or help re-home it. You accept responsibility to provide transportation in either case, and in no circumstance should the dog see the inside of a shelter or rescue.
Only after your application as a home is approved and your family is absolutely sure, should serious families send the NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of $500.00 USD. At such time, state your preferences for a male or female and for the puppy to be cropped or left natural. The purchase must be completed before puppy leaves our premises.
Policies and Pricing
As a reputable breeder, I make every attempt to breed exceptional Great Danes and place them into the best homes possible. Show puppy or companion puppy, I want them all to go into loving homes where they will remain for their entire life. I only breed quality parents who have passed all their health testing and are mentally and physically sound, and go to great lengths to assure the resulting litter has had the best start in life possible.
How Much for a Puppy?
Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price. The person who calls and after hearing a price surprisedly states: “I can buy a cheaper dog elsewhere”. I also address you; the person who doesn’t care about papers because I want “just a pet”.
No dog is “just a pet”.
Behind every pure bred dog is a BREEDER. I’m using capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory or mill. A reputable breeder does not breed dogs without papers, that does not protect the integrity of the breed. Registration (papers) are records of lineage that document bloodline and allow one to research any possible health issues present in the lineage. When you tell a Breeder you don’t care about papers what you’re really telling them is you couldn’t care less about the health of the dog you just want the cheapest thing you can find! When you select to buy a dog from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for the health of every dog; both dogs owned and every dog they’ve sold for its lifetime. This breeder will skip holidays, miss sleeping, and most of their personal house space has been turned into space for their dogs. The truly passionate breeder who loves what they breed, puts their whole heart and soul into it. Not only in puppies that are sold, but also in each client who owns a piece of their heart and now is a member of their extended family. This does not take into account any pup/dog who might get sick or need extra help to thrive. Breeders worry about their babies after they leave and will take one back without question.
A breeder will get their hands dirty, often covered in everything accompanied with birthing. Because that’s what life is about...In the middle of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps turning. A breeder will do progesterone tests, echos, x-rays, analysis, emergency c sections, vaccinations, register dogs and litters, research pedigrees, de-worm, as well as microchip their puppies and get them evaluated by specialists.
Last but by no means least, a breeder CHOOSES the family lucky enough to have one of their puppies. Yes, you read that right. A true breeder chooses who they sell to because they are not making money off the sale. There is no compensation that can offset the investment a Breeder has made so they need to be confident its the right fit. Many times saying more no’s then yes...A good Breeder will have different criteria for those wanting to carry on their bloodline, why? Because breeding is not a responsibility to ever be taken lightly, it’s a lifestyle choice set aside for ONLY the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.
Because a dog is never “just a pet” it’s the Breeder’s legacy, a little boy’s best friend, a little girls protector, an elderly persons therapy, a member of the family, someone’s whole world!!!
